Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again claimed that he averted a nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan, a statement that has sparked diplomatic pushback and political controversy in India.
"We talked trade, and we said, ‘we can’t trade with people that are shooting at each other and potentially using nuclear weapons,’" Trump said at a recent public event, reiterating that his intervention stopped a war between the two South Asian nations.
According to Trump, his strategy involved leveraging trade negotiations and emphasizing that the U.S. could not maintain economic ties with countries engaged in armed conflict.
India's Response: "No External Help Was Needed"

India’s opposition party, the Congress, has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence over Trump’s repeated assertions.
“This is the 11th time in 21 days that Donald Trump has claimed he prevented war between India and Pakistan. Why is our Prime Minister silent?” asked Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.
The party has urged the government to issue an official response to clarify India’s position and uphold the nation’s diplomatic autonomy.
